Kelley R. Small
As Advisor to Standish Executive Search, Kelley brings a broad range of experiences to her role, including her prior practice as a Principal of the firm. As a Standish Principal, Kelley played a key role in advising clients and building the firm for the benefit of its expanding base of client companies. Kelley is a former business owner, and a seasoned business and organization advisor to mid-sized and smaller companies, government, and professional organizations.
More About Kelley
Kelley was the Founder and President of Newfound Business Solutions, a company she led from 2006 to 2017. As an Accredited Business Advisor, she has helped mid-size and small companies across a wide range of industries, both in the United States and internationally, to achieve their business goals. In addition Kelley worked with C-Suite Executives in her role as the Leadership Director for CEO Connection.

Her earliest business experience came through her family’s company, the Pedlar Publishing Group. The central MA area company eventually sold the magazines they published, after which Small launched a monthly magazine, Today’s Parent in 1996. She was its publisher until its sale in 2002. The magazine continues today under the name, Bay State Parent, with its owner, Kirk Davis.

Under the administration of President George W. Bush, Kelley also served as an appointee to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), where she was Chairman of its Farm Service Agency for Massachusetts, a post she held for eight years.

Kelley was a founding board member of the Association for Corporate Development of NH and a member of the New Hampshire Tech Alliance Workforce Development Committee. She has been active in public communities as well, including: Four years serving on the Board of Directors and as President of the PTA at Worcester Academy, Worcester, MA; twenty years as Coordinator for New England Equitation Championships and thirty-five years as an active member of her church serving in many different leadership capacities.

In her executive search engagements with business owners, executives and boards, Kelley’s work reflects her seasoned background in leadership and organization effectiveness, from both in-house leadership and advisory perspectives. She has provided effective support and advice to mid-market and smaller companies as they have grown and transformed their businesses.

A resident of Bridgewater, NH, Kelley’s education includes business management at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and professional certifications in advising independent businesses (IIB); marketing and sales; and personality evaluations.
