Ian M. MacNeil
Ian M. MacNeil serves as a Principal for Standish Executive Search in New England. Ian has broadly applied his practice across many industries, specifically bringing expertise in the areas of Consumer Products and Services, Finance, and Hospitality to Standish’s clients. He has over 20 years of business success in corporate leadership, operations, finance and sales. His career has also included international product sourcing, importing and direct-to-consumer marketing. Ian’s many operational leadership roles give added depth to his understanding of client objectives as well as to his evaluation of candidates, which significantly improves Standish’s clients’ competitive edge in the marketplace.
From his family roots in Newton, Massachusetts and Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Ian has led large employee groups through new business start-ups, aggressive corporate expansions, and challenging right-sizing initiatives. His depth of leadership and management experience led him to create the Hospitality Management Program at Napa Valley College. He continues to teach entrepreneurship, leadership and agriculture business to students at the college level, both in New England and globally. His work in viticulture and business was formally recognized by the Great Wine Capitals Global Network in Bordeaux, France in 2009.
As Vice President at Bank of Marin, Ian was instrumental in developing key relationships and evaluating commercial business loans. Most recently, he worked as a Senior Search Consultant for a top ten global executive search firm. As a result, he has a deep understanding of company finances and the critical importance of hiring the right leaders for business operations and growth through Standish’s proprietary model.
